The results of a feasibility survey conducted during 1997 and 1998 indicated that South African industries had a requirement for improved roller cover qualities.

H&M Roller Technologies (Pty) Ltd is an independant South African company which was founded in 1999 through a joint venture between Hannecard in Belgium and Mitex in Germany to address these requirements. These two international companies are represented around the world and have many years of extensive roll covering experience.
The first H&M Rollers facility was established in Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa.

A partnership with Hannecard and Mitex provided H&M Rollers with the superior technology developed in the group's modern laboratories. This advantage presented H&M Rollers with the ability to provide roll covers far superior to what was previously available in South Africa thereby meeting customer requirements.
Being the only member of the Global Roller Technologies Group in Africa further ensures the continued technological superiority of  H&M Rollers.

Many large and smaller customers have since experienced the benefits of covered rolls from H&M Rollers in all areas where these rolls have been installed. The durability and improved performance of our rolls have contributed towards reduced plant down time and reduced operating cost.

We strive to develop strong, long term working relationships with our customers and prefer to be regarded as "partners" rather than just suppliers.

In 2005 H&M Roller Technologies (Pty) Ltd acquired Rubber Rollers (Pty) Ltd, a company active in the roller business since 1970,  to form the largest rubber and polyurethane roller covering company in Africa.  

The company is structured into three operating divisions which are strategically located to service a broad client base in Southern Africa. The roller production facilities are located in Vereeniging close to Johannesburg, Cape Town  and Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Pietermaritzburg facility is home to our specialist paper division which supplies to paper mills throughout South Africa and some African countries. The rubber mixing division which produces rubber compound for the group and the technical department is also located here. The technical department is in constant contact with our European partners Hannecard and Mitex to ensure that our technology advantage is maintained.
Our rubber mixing division also mixes and sells non exclusive rubber compounds to outside customers.

As an ISO 9001:2008 accredited company H&M Rollers supply superior roll covers to all the major industries such as paper, steel, aluminium, timber board, textile, packaging, print etc.
